Through texture, surface, and design, Seth Clark studies the character of the structures around him. In his most recent work he layers up mediums in an attempt to explore the history of windows, walls, etc, and stories that lay beneath them.
Seth studied Graphic Design at the Rhode Island School of Design and currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania amongst endless row houses and giant abandoned factories. There he surrounds himself with little toys and ephemera, and happily rents a homestead with friends “for what it cost to rent a cubicle in NYC.” Seth’s chosen surroundings seem as suited to his work as he is to making it.
I recommend clicking through his small book of 52 houses, too.
