Orbless

If you are in the Bay area this weekend, be sure to go to Sub Mission in San Francisco this Sunday night. There will be four noise/synth bands playing (Orbless from Oakland who I am excited to see) as well as Concern from Portland, Compression of the Chest Cavity Miracle from Los Angeles, and Brandon Nickell from San Francisco.

Orbless, the solo output of musician/artist Collin Mckelvey creates haunting sounds facilitating a kind of mythical space. Each time I listen, I discover new subtle moments interwoven beneath the layers of atmospheric buzzing. These subtleties paralleled with gradual build ups are the perfect combination of a calm intensity. I recommend listening. Below is a video from a recent show in Oakland.
