Marc Bell: new book and tour

Marc Bell (his blog with lotsa work lives HERE) is an internationally renowned artist who has been producing his highly intricate, absurdist work for well over ten years, and has been greatly influential to a new generation of artists working in a similar vein. Embedded in his drawings is a complex and layered wordplay which alludes to comics, folk art, popular culture, and Fine Art, yet the work remains deeply funny. Bell’s works vary from pen and ink drawings colored with subtle watercolors, to comics, to elaborate mixed media cardboard constructions. Although he’s produced several other books, all this varied richness has been assembled together for the first time in the Drawn and Quarterly book HOT POTATOE.

Marc is touring this tome right now, and will be in San Francisco this coming weekend for the Alternative Press Expo October 17th and 18th, plus other places which you can see on the schedule HERE.

Marc is also represented by Adam Baumgold Gallery in New York, which is also a good link to click to see more of his opulent exploding art.
