I wrote about this new city-sponsored and Triple Base-curated program back when it had been announced and was accepting applications. Now it's happening! Each neighborhood's projects are launching individually, and the first is this weekend.
Central Tenderloin and Market Launch: Friday, October 23rd from 5-7pm
(Market Street between 5th and 8th Streets, and North of Market along Taylor Street)
Come check the just-completed 11 window installations and 2 murals. Also, a free community celebration featuring live bands will begin with an unveiling ceremony at 989 Market Street (at 6th Street) followed by a reception next door (979 Market Street) where the public can pick up a map to the newly-transformed storefronts. The public will also have the opportunity to meet the artists who will be stationed at their installations giving impromptu art talks throughout the evening.
