Thin Ice Collective

While looking at the work of Catherine Ryan I stumbled up the art collective she is a part of up in the Bay Area. First off I have been looking at Catherine's work for about 6 or so years now and I love seeing the progression of her work. Her newest pieces below are extremely striking. I am loving the blocked solid colors against the washy charcoal as well as the man vs. wild theme.
Catherine is also in a 2 person show with Eduardo Villanueva at the
Paper Boat Boutique in WI.
So if you are in the area go see her work.

For more info go to www.paperboatboutique.com and to see more of Catherine's work go, http://catherineryan.org

Another member of the collective is Hilary Pecis whom I also am just loving as well. I have been looking at her work for a couple years and I love the juxtaposition of the patterns and the solid colors. It is as if you discovered this sacred, special cave and you want to stay in there forever...ok that was a little much but I think she has a great eye for composition and color. Please check out more of her work, and you will see what I mean, www.hilarypecis.com

I also want to mention, Serena Cole whose portraits are hauntingly beautiful. I really need to see these in person.

These are just 3 of the members of the Thin Ice Collective, make sure to check out their site to see all of them!!
